Attention:Whenyouinstallanadapter,makesurethattheadapteriscorrectlyseatedinthePCI
riser-cardassemblyandthatthePCIriser-cardassemblyissecurelyseatedintheriser-card
connectoronthesystemboardbeforeyouturnontheserver.Anincorrectlyseatedadaptermight
causedamagetothesystemboard,thePCIriser-cardassembly,ortheadapter.
Step9.Reinstallthecover(see“Replacingthecover”onpage132).
Ifyouhavereplacedaservercomponentorinstalledanoptionaldeviceintheserver,youneedtoreconnect
thepowercordsandallexternalcables,andturnontheserverandperipheraldevices.

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToremoveanIBMServeRAIDadapter,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage131).
Step2.RemovethePCIriser-cardassembly(see“RemovingthePCIriser-cardassembly”onpage136).
Step3.DisconnectthesignalcablefromtheServeRAIDadapter.
Step4.GraspthePCIriser-cardassemblyatthefrontgrippointandrearedgesandlifttoremoveit
fromtheserver.
Step5.PlacethePCIriser-cardassemblyonaflat,static-protectivesurface.
Step6.CarefullygrasptheendoftheServeRAIDadapterandpulltheadapteroutoftheconnectoron
thePCIriser-cardassembly.
