Toreplaceanadapter,completethefollowingsteps.
Notes:
Ifyouradapterwaspreviouslyconfigured,backuporrecorditsconfigurationinformation,ifpossible,
beforereplacingtheadapter.Seethedocumentationforyouradapterforinformationandinstructions.
IfyouarereplacingaServeRAIDadapter,importyourRAIDconfigurationtothereplacementadapteras
aforeignconfigurationafteryoufinishthereplacement.SeetheServeRAID-MSoftwareUserGuideat

Step1.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage131).
Step2.RemovethePCIriser-cardassembly(see“RemovingthePCIriser-cardassembly”onpage136).
Step3.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheadaptertoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceon
theserver;then,removetheadapterfromthepackage.
Step4.Placetheadapter,componentsideup,onaflat,static-protectivesurfaceandsetanyjumpersor
switchesasdescribedbytheadaptermanufacturer,ifnecessary.
Step5.Followthecablinginstructions,ifanycomewiththeadapter.Routetheadaptercablesbefore
youinstalltheadapter.
Step6.Removetheexpansion-slotcoverfromthePCIriser-cardassemblyandsaveforfutureuse.
Step7.AligntheconnectorontheadapterwiththeconnectoronthePCIriser-cardassembly,then,insert
theadapterintothePCIriser-cardassembly.PresstheedgeoftheconnectorfirmlyintothePCI
riser-cardassembly.MakesurethattheadapterissecurelyinstalledinthePCIriser-cardassembly.
Important:MakesurethattheU-shapedopeninginthemetaladapterbracketengagesthe
tabontheexpansion-slotbracket.
