Step1.Positionthereplacementfansothattheairflowarrowonthefanpointstowardtherearoftheserver.
Note:Thecorrectairflowisfromthefronttotherearoftheserver.

Step2.Installthereplacementfaninthebracket:
a.Makesurethatthefancablesitsinthechannelonthesideofthefan.
b.Inthelocationfromwhichyouremovedthefailedfan,routethefancableintothefancable
slotinthefanbrackettop.
c.Insertthefanintothebracket.
d.Makesurethateachofthegreysofttabsonthefanisfullyseatedinitsslotinthefanbracket.
Step3.Connectthereplacementfancabletothesystemboard(see“System-boardLEDs”onpage24for
thelocationsofthefancableconnectorsonthesystemboard).
Step4.Reinstalltheairbaffleifitwasremovedbefore(see“Replacingtheairbaffle”onpage135).
Step5.Reinstallthecover(see“Replacingthecover”onpage132).
Ifyouhavereplacedaservercomponentorinstalledanoptionaldeviceintheserver,youneedtoreconnect
thepowercordsandallexternalcables,andturnontheserverandperipheraldevices.
Removingthesystembattery
Usethisinformationtoremovethesystembattery.
Thefollowingnotesdescribeinformationthatyoumustconsiderwhenreplacingthebattery.

avoidpossibledanger.Ifyoureplacethebattery,youmustadheretothefollowinginstructions.
