Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallthehot-swapharddiskdrivebackplane,completethefollowingsteps:

Step1.Reconnectthecablestothereplacementbackplate.
a.ConnecttheSAS/SATAcontrollersignalcabletothebackplane.
b.Connectthepowercabletothebackplane.
c.Connecttheconfigurationcabletothebackplane.
Step2.Slidethebackplateintotheguidechannels,makingsurethatanynearbywiresorcablesarenot
trappedorpinched.
Step3.Pressonthebluetouchpointfirmlyuntilthebackplaneisfullyseatedandclicksintoplace.The
followingillustrationsshowstherespectivecableconnectionswhenthehot-swapdrivebackplane
isconnectedtoaredundantpowersupplyorafixedpowersupply.
