•Locatethedocumentationthatcomeswiththedriveandfollowthoseinstructionsinadditiontothe
instructionsinthischapter.
•Makesurethatyouhaveallthecablesandotherequipmentthatarespecifiedinthedocumentationthat
comeswiththedrive.
•Theserversupportsoneultra-slimSATAopticaldrive.

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDsbecause
theLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthepowersource,makea
noteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitontheoperationinformationpanel,onthelightpath
diagnosticspanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystemboard.
ToreplacetheDVDdrive,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage131).
Step2.RemovetheDVDdrivefillerpanelifitisinstalled.LocatethebluereleasetabontherearoftheDVD
drivefillerpanel;then,whileyoupressthetab,pushtheDVDdrivefillerpaneloutofthedrivebay.
