a.Connectoneendoftheacpowercordforthenewpowersupplyintotheconnectoronthe
backofthepowersupply,andconnecttheotherendofthepowercordintoaproperly
groundedelectricaloutlet.
b.MakesurethatthestandbypowerLEDonthesystemboardislit(see“System-boardLEDs”);
ifthestandbypowerLEDisnotlit,discontinuethisprocedureandobtainanewpowersupply.
c.Pressthepower-controlbutton.Makesurethatthepower-onLEDonthefrontoftheserver
islit.
Iftheserverstarts,proceedtothenextstep.Iftheserverdoesnotstart,disconnecttheacpower
cordandcallforservice.
Step7.Turnofftheserveranddisconnecttheacpowercord.
Step8.Connectthecablesfromthepowersupplytotheinternaldevices.
Step9.Installtheharddiskdrivebackplaneorbackplateassembly(see“Replacingthesimple-swap
harddiskdrivebackplateassembly”onpage172
or“Replacingthehot-swapharddiskdrive
backplane”onpage180).
Step10.Reinstallthecover(see“Replacingthecover”onpage132).
Step11.Reconnecttheacpowercordintotheconnectoronthebackofthepowersupply.
Step12.Connectallexternalcablesthatyoudisconnectedin"Removingthefixedpowersupply".
Step13.Connecttheotherendoftheacpowercordintoaproperlygroundedelectricaloutlet.
Step14.Pressthepower-controlbutton.
Step15.Makesurethatthepower-onLEDonthefrontoftheserverislit.
Ifyouhavereplacedaservercomponentorinstalledanoptionaldeviceintheserver,youneedtoreconnect
thepowercordsandallexternalcables,andturnontheserverandperipheraldevices.

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toremovethe240VAsafetycover,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Removethecover(see“Removingthecover”onpage131).
Step2.RemoveanyconnectedSAS/SATAsignalcableandallothercablesfromthesafetycover.
