ThedefaultforalloftheswitchesonswitchblockSW1isOff.
Whiletheserveristurnedoff,moveswitch2oftheswitchblockSW1totheOnpositiontoenablethe
power-onpasswordoverride.YoucanthenstarttheSetuputilityandresetthepower-onpassword.You
donothavetoreturntheswitchtothepreviousposition.
Thepower-onpasswordoverrideswitchdoesnotaffecttheadministratorpassword.
Administratorpassword
Ifanadministratorpasswordisset,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordforaccesstothefullSetup
utilitymenu.Youcanuseanycombinationof6to20printableASCIIcharactersforthepassword.
Attention:Ifyousetanadministratorpasswordandthenforgetit,thereisnowaytochange,override,
orremoveit.Youmustreplacethesystemboard.
UsingtheBootManager
UsethisinformationfortheBootManager.
TheBootManagerprogramisabuilt-in,menu-drivenconfigurationutilityprogramthatyoucanuseto
temporarilyredefinethefirststartupdevicewithoutchangingsettingsintheSetuputility.
TousetheBootManagerprogram,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnofftheserver.
Step2.Restarttheserver.
Step3.Whentheprompt<F12>SelectBootDeviceisdisplayed,pressF12.
Step4.UsetheUparrowandDownarrowkeystoselectanitemfromthemenuandpressEnter.
Thenexttimetheserverstarts,itreturnstothestartupsequencethatissetintheSetuputility.
Startingthebackupserverfirmware
Usethisinformationtostartthebackupserverfirmware.
Thesystemboardcontainsabackupcopyareafortheserverfirmware.Thisisasecondarycopyofthe
serverfirmwarethatyouupdateonlyduringtheprocessofupdatingtheserverfirmware.Iftheprimarycopy
oftheserverfirmwarebecomesdamaged,usethisbackupcopy.
Toforcetheservertostartfromthebackupcopy,turnofftheserver;then,placetheUEFIbootbackup
jumperinthebackupposition(pins2and3)toenabletheUEFIrecoverymode.See“System-boardswitches
andjumpers”onpage22
forthelocationoftheUEFIbootbackupjumper.
Usethebackupcopyoftheserverfirmwareuntiltheprimarycopyisrestored.Aftertheprimarycopyis
restored,turnofftheserver;then,movetheUEFIbootbackupjumperbacktotheprimaryposition(pins1
and2).
