5.7 Leveling the Header – M Series Windrower
Windrower linkages are factory-set to provide the proper level for the header and should not normally require adjustment.
If the header is NOT level, do the following steps before adjusting the levelling linkages. The float springs are NOT used to
level the header.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from the unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator’s seat for any reason.
1. Park windrower on level ground.
2. Check windrower tire pressures.
3. Raise header fully and hold momentarily to allow lift cylinders to rephase.
4. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.

5. Place float pins (A) in locked out position.
DANGER
Check to be sure all bystanders have cleared the area.

6. Start engine and set header approximately 150 mm (6 in.)
off ground.
7. Check that member (A) is against link (B).
8. Note which end of header is high and which is low.
