c) Using Spirit for the cleaning work:
Spirit (Ethanol) should only be used if no cleaning tool and no
cleaning strip are available!
Spirit is an easily combustible liquid!
Take notice of the safety instructions for combustible liquids!
Don’t smoke!
• Use a soft lint-free cloth, moisten it with spirit and then use it to
wipe several times along the print area of the printhead
(compare figure 9.1.2.a).
• Allow the printhead to dry for 2-3 minutes.
5. Install a ribbon, if you want to operate the printer in the thermal
transfer mode.
6. Close the printhead pressure lever.
7. The printhead moves down and the printer is ready for printing
again.

To help keep the printhead clean and to avoid premature wear out of
the printhead, the hood of the printer should always be closed.
Moreover it is not allowed to use dusty or dirty print media.
