Troubles for which error messages are given on the LCD

In Case of Trouble
Error message Cause Corrective measure
X origin could not be detected.
• Turn off the power to the device an
turn it on after a while.
• If the same error message appears
again on the LCD, contact your local
distributor to call for service.
Z origin could not be detected.
The media jam occurs.
• Raise the head using the jog keys.
The media is too thick.
• Set a thinner media.
The gap pin unit has been broken
down.
• Contact your local distributor to call for
service.
The amount of ink remaining in the ink
cartridge is insufficient.
• Replace an ink cartridge of the
displayed head ahead of time.

The ink cartridge has run out of ink.
• Replace the ink cartridge of which
color is shown on the LCD with a new
one. ( P.4-3)
The ink cartridge is not attached to the
ink station.
• Attach the ink cartridge(s) correspond-
ing with the color shown on the dis-
play. ( P.4-26)
Waste ink tank is full.
• Remove the waste ink tank and set an
empty waste ink tank. ( P.4-19)
Wiping times exceeds the
predetermined value.
• Contact your local distributor to call for
service.
The IC chip of the ink cartridge cannot
be read normally.
• Remove an ink cartridge of the
displayed head and insert it again. If
the error is still displayed after this
operation, call the dealer or our
branch for the service.
Two months and more have passed
since ink cartridge expired.
• Replace the displayed ink cartridge
with a new one.
The ink cartridge is not a Mimaki’s
genuine goods.
• Replace the cartridge with a Mimaki’s
genuine goods.
Wiper tank is full.
• Discard waste ink pooled in the tank
with reference to P.4-17 .
Starting of the negative pressure
control has an abnormality.
• Turn off the power to the device an
turn it on after a while.
• If the same error message appears
again on the LCD, contact your local
distributor to call for service.
Starting of the positive pressure
control has an abnormality.
The negative pressure cannot be kept
properly.
