Troubleshooting
Ink Error
Ink error is displayed also in the local guidance. ( P.3-23)
Message Cause Solution
You tried to charge ink that has been
expired.
• Replace it with new ink bottle.
• If you use as it is, select [YES].
You try to use ink that has been expired.
• Replace it with new ink bottle.
The ink IC chip cannot be read nor-
mally.
• Reinsert the IC chip.
If the same error message appears again,
contact your local distributor to call for service.
The ink IC chip that has already been
used was set.
• Check that the IC chip is the one attached to
the ink bottle.
The ink IC chip whose ink type is differ-
ent from that of the filled ink was set.
• Check that the IC chip is the one attached to
the ink bottle.
• Check the ink type of the ink bottle.
The ink IC chip whose ink color is differ-
ent from that of the filled ink was set.
• Check that the IC chip is the one attached to
the ink bottle.
• Check the ink color of the ink bottle.
The charged ink remains more than
half, and ink charge cannot be per-
formed.
• Check that the IC chip is the one attached to
the ink bottle.

You tried to perform ink charge while
the charged ink remains.

• If the warning is displayed again even if you
did not pull out the IC chip, contact a distribu-
tor in your district or our office to call for ser-
vice.

• Prepare new ink bottle.
Ink in current use expired.
• Replace it with new ink bottle.
Ink in the ink bottle became less.
• Check the remaining amount of the ink bottle.
• When Ink charge is displayed, perform ink
charge.
