Ink Error
Ink error is displayed also in the local guidance. ( P.3-53)
Message Cause Solution
The inserted IC chip is not loaded cor-
rectly.
• Remove the IC chip generating the warn-
ing once and install it again.
• If the same warning message still appears,
contact your local distributor to call for ser-
vice.
The type of ink on the inserted IC chip
is different from the ink in the bottle.
• Check the type of ink on both the IC chip
and the ink bottle.
The color of ink on the inserted IC chip
is different from the ink in the bottle.
• Check the color of ink on both the IC chip
and the ink bottle.
• Check the color of the ink for the slot into
which the IC chip was inserted.
An IC chip that has already been
charged was inserted.
• Insert an IC chip that has not yet been
charged.
The expiration date for the inserted IC
chip has passed.
• The expiration date for both the IC chip
and the ink bottle has passed.
• This ink can still be used by performing ink
charging with the maintenance function.
The expiration date for the inserted IC
chip has passed. (1 month from the
expiration date)
• The expiration date for both the IC chip
and the ink bottle has passed by 1 month
or more.
• This ink can still be used by performing ink
charging with the maintenance function.
The expiration date for the inserted IC
chip has passed. (2 months from the
expiration date)
• The expiration date for both the IC chip
and the ink bottle has passed by 2 months
or more.
• Use a new ink IC and ink bottle.
The ink bottle is not set on the external
ink supply unit.
• Set the ink bottle on the bottle holder with
the warning.
The ink of the ink bottle has been com-
pletely used up.
• Add ink to the ink bottle for which the warn-
ing occurred, and charge the ink into the
printer.
The ink of the ink bottle has been
nearly used up.
The expiration date on the ink bottle
for which the warning occurred has
passed.
• The expiration date has passed.
However, you can use it until the end of the
following month.
The expiration date on the ink bottle
for which the warning occurred has
passed. (1 month from the expiration
date)
• One month has passed after the expiration
date.
However, you can use it until the end of
this month. (The ink bottle lamp blinks in
red.)
The expiration date on the ink bottle
for which the warning occurred has
passed. (2 months from the expiration
date)
• Two months have passed after the expira-
tion date.
Replace the ink bottle generating the warn-
ing with a new one.
The ink remaining in the printer has
dropped to 10% or less.
• Add ink to the ink bottle for which the ink
error occurred, and charge the ink into the
printer.
The ink remaining in the printer has
reached zero.
