Press to select "ROLL" .
• Detects the media width and thickness.
• If the media thickness could not be detected, the error message is displayed. Enter the media thickness
by referring to P.2-18 “When media thickness could not be detected”.
• When you set “Media remaining amount display” and “Media detection” to “ON” and “MANUAL”
( P.3-25,P.3-31) in the machine setting, input screen for the media thickness and the remaining
amount is displayed after detecting the media width. ( P.2-19)

Secure the media on the take-up device.
(1) Feed the media up to the core of the roll media of the
take-up device by pressing .
(2) Pass the media under the tension bar 1.
(3) Pass the media over the tension bar 2.
• Be cautious while pressing , because
the take-up device operates. Press the
key to stop the take-up device
after media feed.
• Check the media path.
Set the media in the path indicated in the right
figure.
