5.2.6 Write to standard ROM and Flash card by GX Developer
(1) Types and applications for writing data to standard ROM and Flash card
There are the following methods for writing data to the standard ROM and Flash card
Diagram 5.24.
(a) Method using [Write the program memory to ROM...] of GX Developer
This method batch-copies the program memory contents to the standard ROM or
Flash card.
Writing the program memory to ROM is used in the following cases.
• When performing debugging in the program memory program, copying the
debugged data to the standard ROM or Flash card, and executing boot run
( Section 5.2.8)
• When saving the program memory data into the standard ROM or Flash card
without battery backup.
(b) Method using [Write to PLC (Flash ROM)] of GX Developer
This method batch-writes the specified files specified by GX Developer to the
standard ROM or Flash card.
Writing to PLC (Flash ROM) is used in the following cases.
• When storing the parameters, device initial values and device comments,
which volume is too large to be saved in the program memory, to the
standard ROM or Flash card.
• When using the file registers stored on the Flash card.
• When fully using the Flash card capacity.
