4.1.3 Placement of specimen
CAUTION
· The surface of the specimen must be parallel to the top surface of the Manual XY
stage.
· When the specimen is placed on or removed from the XY stage, rotate the up/down
handle forward to lower the extension shaft in order to prevent the specimen from
colliding with the indenter or Objective lens.
The specimen height to be tested varies with the combination of the Manual XY stage, extension
shaft (38 mm, 76 mm in length), and standard vise (special accessory). The specimen heights are
shown in the table below.
In the table, "○" represents to be used, and "－" not to be used.
