5.6.3 Optional test force setting
This section describes the test force setting.
For HM-200A series, an optional test force can be set in addition to the fixed test force defined in
the Vickers hardness test standards.
<HM-210A>
Fixed test force: Refer to "4.2.1.2" and "4.2.2.2 Hardness scale".
Optional test force: A pattern of setting can be memorized
· The test force lower than HV0.1 (980.7 × 10-3 N (100gf)) can be set in steps of HV0.001
(9.807 × 10-3 N (1gf)).
· The test force HV0.1 (980.7 × 10-3 N (100gf)) or higher can be set in steps of HV0.01 (98.07
× 10-3 N (10gf)).

Fixed test force: Refer to "4.2.1.2" and "4.2.2.2 Hardness scale".
Optional test force: A pattern of setting can be memorized
· The test force lower than HV0.0001 (0.9807 × 10-3 N (0.1gf)) can only be set to HV0.00005
(0.4903 × 10-3 N (0.05gf)).
