2 Installation
This chapter describes the installation environment and system
component connection.
2.1 Installation environment
In order to obtain the full performance of the hardness testing machine, give consideration
to the installation environment described bellow. Especially under the condition of the test
force of 19.61mN or lower, the hardness testing machine provides superior performance if
the installation environment (floor vibration, acoustic, or wind) is taken into account.
2.1.1 Temperature
Operating condition: 5 to 40 °C
The Accuracy assurance temperature is;
① No more than 49.04mN(5gf): 23±1 °C
② 49.04mN(5gf) to no more than 98.07mN(10gf): 23±3 °C
③ 98.07mN(10gf) to 1961mN(200gf) or lower: 23±5 °C
2.1.2 Humidity
80% RH or lower (non-condensing)
Humidity will not directly affect the accuracy of the hardness testing machine, however,
high relative humidity may easily oxidize critical parts of the machine. Electronic parts may
also be adversely affected. To avoid these problems maintain the ambient humidity
between 55 and 65% as much as possible.
2.1.3 Vibration
· Select a place with less floor vibration.
· Install on a floor with rigidity considering the substruction of the facility.
(Avoid installation on the high-floored section.)
· Avoid a place with the flow of people.
