CAUTION
1. When rotating the turret, do not contact the indenter or objective lenses with the
specimen or inching stage.
2. Do not touch this hardness testing machine during turret rotation. Failure to observe
this may cause trouble on the hardness testing machine or terminate the hardness
test abnormally.
5.7.2 Switching indenter
This function is valid only when a Vickers indenter and a Knoop indenter are attached.
The type of the indenter to be used can be switched between Vickers and Knoop.
There are two ways to switch the indenter type.
1) <Turning the indenter to be used to the front>
① Turn the indenter to be used to the front.
② Press the button.
③ The indenter positioned at the front is enabled for testing.
④ When indentation is finished and the objective lens is turned to the front, the hardness
scale display is switched.
2) <Switching the indenter by pressing the hardness scale indicator>
① Press the hardness scale indicator.
