4.6.2 Calibration.
To perform the calibration digital input 13 (machine in automatic mode) has to be OFF. The
calibration is permitted only if the machine is in manual mode.
Select the head operation mode only in manual mode (digital input 13 OFF):
Work: in work mode the position loop is
closed, the machine works normally. No
calibration is active. The calibration points
are those written in the fields V.Up and
V.Down.
Open loop: in open loop mode it is
possible to move the head with UP or
DOWN keys; speed can be set in the
Inc.up and Inc.down parameters. When
the head is in an end-of-stroke, set V.Up.
or V.Down values by pressing the relevant
CONFIRM key.
Manual calibration: in manual
calibration mode the loop is closed and it
is possible to move the head UP or
DOWN till the key is pressed. When the
key is released the head maintains the
current position (Position control).
Figure 62
Automatic calibration: in automatic
calibration mode select Start to YES: the
head will move to the two end-of-strokes
and record the relevant V.Up and
V.Down values. When the automatic
calibration is finished the controller
switches to Work mode.
Start: to automatically start the procedure that moves the actuator down, intercepts the mechanical end-of-stroke,
moves the actuator up, intercepts the mechanical end-of-stroke and saves the corresponding voltage values.
Inv. Output: if you select YES you reverse the analog Output.
Inv. Input: if you select YES you reverse the analog Input only during the calibration. See the chapter “4.6.1 Check
wirings” to understand the use of this parameter.
Out: it is possible to select the output command between voltage and current. (the same setting is available in the
machine setup page)
Inc. Up / Inc. Down: With calibration in open loop these variables correspond to the acceleration value of the
output command (expressed in mV/s or mA/s). It's the ramp increment or decrement value on the analog Output.
Inc. Up determines the slope ramp toward max. output. Inc. Down determines the slope ramp toward min. output.
With manual and automatic calibration these variables correspond to the velocity increment (%/s) to move the head
in close loop.
With an intelligent actuator these variables correspond to the acceleration value (mV/s) of the ramps that determine
the head position.
