6. Install the Water pump Seal Remover tool with the
large end of one half of the seal remover body around
the outer lip of the mechanical seal. Carefully install
the other seal remover body half around the outer lip
of the mechanical seal and install the fastener.
7. With both seal remover body fasteners installed in the
tool, evenly tighten the fasteners until fully seated.
NOTICE
Ensure the parting line of the seal remover body halves
are parallel with each other for proper seal removal.
8. Turn the Seal Remover tool center bolt until the
mechanical portion of the mechanical seal is
removed. Carefully disassemble any remaining
pieces of the mechanical seal until just the
mechanical seal body is remaining.
9. Remove both seal remover body fasteners from the
tool and rotate the seal remover body halves so the
tapered end is on the outside. Reinstall the fastener
on one side.
10.Install the Water pump Seal Remover tool with the
tapered end of one half of the seal remover body
around the inner lip of the mechanical seal body.
Carefully install the other seal remover body half
around the inner lip of the mechanical seal body and
install the fastener.
NOTICE
Ensure the lip on the tapered end of the seal body
halves is sharp as this will aid in removal.
