If erratic jumps or gaps are encountered, inspect the
wiring, and connector pins at the sensor and ECU
connector.
If the signal return is erratic and no wiring issues are
found and the TPS is securely mounted to the throttle
body, replace the TPS.
TPS WIRE ROUTING
The throttle position sensor (TPS) is not serviceable. If
the TPS fails or is out of specification, replace the entire
throttle body assembly. For additional information
regarding throttle body removal see the following
procedures:
• Throttle Body Removal page 5.7
• Throttle Body Installation page 5.11
NOTICE
Anytime the throttle body is serviced, follow the TPS
wire lead routing information below.
Always secure the wire lead to the TPS as shown with a
cable tie

Route and retain the rest of the wire lead as shown.
