11. To replace the bearings, use a pick to remove the oil
seals from the backside of the housing.
12.Remove the snap rings. Note that the sharp edge of
the snap rings faces outward.
13.Drive the bearings out of the housing using an Arbor
press. Discard the bearings and oil seals.
14.Install new bearings using an Arbor press. Only press
on outer race of bearings. Do not press on the inner
race.
15.Install snap rings with sharp edge outward.
16.Install new oil seals into the backside of the housing.
The seal lips must face the bearing. Drive on outer
circumference of seals until seal bottoms out in bore.
17.Thoroughly clean the chaincase-to-tunnel mating
surfaces. All residual bonding adhesive MUST be
removed. Use a putty knife and wire brush to remove
material.
18.After removing residual adhesive, wash in solution of
warm, soapy water and allow to air dry.
