APOLLO BRAKE PAD INSPECTION /
REPLACEMENT
Apollo brake pads need to be replaced if the pad material
thickness is less than 1/16″ (1.5 mm).
1. Remove the brake pad retaining pin from the caliper.
2. Extract both brake pads.
NOTICE
Do not compress the brake lever when the brake pads
are removed from the caliper.
3. Inspect the brake disc for abnormal wear.
4. Measure the brake pad friction material and compare
to specification

MEASUREMENT
Apollo Brake Pad Minimum Thickness:
1/16″ (1.5 mm)
5. Replace brake pads as a set if one or both pads do
not meet the minimum specification.
IMPORTANT
Always replace brake pads as a set.
6. Install the brake pads back into the caliper.
7. Reinstall the retaining pin.
8. Test brake system prior to returning vehicle to
service.
MASTER CYLINDER/LEVER SERVICE
TORQUE
Cover Screws:
6 - 8 in-lbs (0.7 - 0.9 Nm)
Handlebar Clamp Screws:
60 - 80 in-lbs (6.8 - 9 Nm)
Brake Hose Banjo Screw:
240 - 264 in-lbs (27 - 30 Nm)
FINAL DRIVE / BRAKE SYSTEMS
