16. Install the brake hose using the same routing and
orientation noted during removal. Torque fitting to
specification.
TORQUE
Brake Hose-to-Caliper Banjo Bolt:
240 - 264 in-lbs (27 - 30 Nm)
17.Follow the Brake Fluid Replacement and Bleeding
Procedure.
18.Test brake system prior to returning vehicle to
service.
BRAKE DISC INSPECTION /
REPLACEMENT
1. Lock the parking brake. Remove the brake disc
mounting bolt and spring washers.
2. Release the parking brake. Remove the brake caliper
mounting bolts. Tie the brake caliper to the over
structure.
IMPORTANT
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang by the brake
hose.
3. Remove the brake disc from the jackshaft.
4. Measure brake disc and compare to specifications.
MEASUREMENT
Lateral Run-Out Service Limit:
.010″ (0.254 mm)
Service Limit Thickness:
.030″ (0.762 mm) less than nominal
Nominal Thickness:
.197″ ± .005″ (5 ± 127 mm)
5. Prior to disc installation, clean the brake disc with
brake cleaner. Dry with compressed air or lint-free
towel.
6. Install brake disc onto jackshaft. Loosely install brake
disc caliper and spring washers. Verify the two spring
washers are installed dome-side out.
7. Reinstall the brake caliper. Apply Loctite 242 to
caliper fasteners and torque to specification.
TORQUE
Brake Caliper Fasteners:
18.4 ft-lbs (25 Nm)
8. Apply the parking brake. Torque brake disc fastener
to specification.
TORQUE
Brake Disc Fastener:
40 ft-lbs (54 Nm)
