Negative Calibration
The negative calibration test itself remains unchanged from the original tester. This test
requests that the scanner calibrate itself to a setting appropriate to scan negative film.
The D/A settings from the calibration are stored for monitoring, only.
The settings are as follows:
• Analog R offset
• Analog G offset
• Analog B offset
• Analog Red gain
• Analog Green gain
• Analog Blue gain
• Analog RGB offset
If a test failure is detected here the test will abort and a hardware calibration error message
appears in a dialog box. See Calibration Error Message.
Error Reporting
The slide scanner error message dialog automatically interprets the hardware error codes as
appropriate to the SprintScan 35 ES or SprintScan 35 Plus. For additional diagnostic
information see information pertaining to the Error Codes.
Test Result Folder/Directory
Test results are automatically stored in a spreadsheet format file folder named Polaroid Test
Results. A single row in the spreadsheet is given to each run of a test. The data is
compatible with MS Excel. Within the folder test results are stored in a file called:
results_ss35p for the SprintScan Plus
or
results_ss35 for the SprintScan ES
Note: When the file size exceeds 75k in size, the program appends the name with the
present date, and if necessary an index, then begins a new results file.
