Replacement of Components
Scanning Lamp
Note: The scanning lamp should be replaced when:
• Begins to flicker or becomes dim
• Edges become blackened
• Center becomes spotty
• Ready LED fails to come on and a lamp error message appears during
an attempted scan or preview.
To replace the scanning lamp refer to the applicable slide scanner User's Guide.
Slide Scanner Fuses
Note: There are four (4) fuses installed in the slide scanner:
• System (AC power) fuse (SS35/SS35 ES only)
• Power supply PC board
• AC inverter PC board
• SCSI interface (terminator power)
Note: The system (AC power) fuse (SS35/SS35 ES only) is the only fuse that can be replaced
by the user (See User's Guide. All other fuses (power supply, AC inverter, and SCSI
interface) must be replaced by a qualified repair person.
System (AC Power) Fuse (
SS35/SS35 ES only)
Note: If the green Power LED, the yellow Ready LED, the scanning lamp, and the cooling fan
all fail to come on when the slide scanner is turned on, first make sure that power exists at
the source.
If power availability can be confirmed and the slide scanner's LED's and lamp still fail to
come on, check the AC power fuse. If necessary, replace it.
To replace the AC power fuse refer to the applicable slide scanner User's Guide.
