Slide Scanner Repair Manual Calibration and Adjustments
Inspection and Cleaning
Whenever disassembling a slide scanner for adjustment or parts replacement, inspect the slide
scanner for dust and debris. If necessary, clean the slide scanner to assure that dust in the optical
path does not degrade its performance. Also, check or inspect the recommended components or
assemblies listed in Table 3-1 before making any adjustment, alignment, or parts replacement.

Component/Assembly Inspection Procedure
With Power Off:
Assembly Mounting Check all assembly mounting screws to make sure each screw
Screws is tight.
PC Boards Check to make sure:
• Mounting screws properly secures PC board.
• Cables and connectors are properly inserted and seated
into there mating connector.
Transporter Check transporter to make sure:
• Up/down movement does not interfere with the top housing.
It should move freely without scraping the inside of the top
housing.
• Tab is properly centered in the middle of its photo-sensor
(U1) on the main controller PC board.
Lamp Check to make sure:
• Slide scanner has a spare lamp.
• Specified lamp type is being used.
Note: The specified lamp type should be a Phillips Coolwhite:
• US - Type TL4W/33
• European Equivalent - Type F4T5T
