(NRC) ACTION
1-2 Do not use curled (more than 2 mm) or
wrinkled paper, especially for duplex
the curl or wrinkling cannot be removed before
printing, replace with new paper.
Curled or wrinkled paper has jammed in the paper
transport path.
Try to flatten curls, wrinkles, or replace paper.
1-3 Check the paper and if it is coated, make sure
it meets specifications for coated paper.
Replace with paper that is approved for use
with this printer, and then load the paper in
Tray 1 for single-sided printing.
The transport roller in the duplex unit is slipping. Switch to paper approved for use
load the paper in Tray 1 for single-sided printing.
1-4 Curl can develop if paper remains unused and
loaded in the paper cassette for a long period.
Remove the curled or wrinkled paper.
Curled or wrinkled paper has jammed. Remove the curled or wrinkled paper.
(2) Disconnect the duplex unit and check the
reverse guide to make sure that reverse guide
is closed on both ends. If open, lock the
reverse guide on both ends.
Not closed after a jam was removed.
The difference in the pressure between the half-
locks of the reverse guide on the left and right side
(if both are not locked correctly) can cause the
paper to skew, preventing the paper from feeding in
the paper path.
Remove the duplex unit and make sure that the
reverse guide is locked on both sides.
(3) Damage.
3-1 Open the top cover and check the transport
belt for dirt.
The transport belt is dirty, resulting in an insufficient
amount of attraction between the belt and the paper
which allows the paper to float out of the paper feed
path.
Clean the transport
The ST will investigate the causes of problems
whose causes are unclear.
1. Duplex unit gears damaged.
2. Transport roller in duplex unit dirty.
3. Charge roller is dirty, scarred, or damaged.
4. High voltage PP damaged.
5. Sensor damage (trailing edge sensor).
6. Harness disconnected, damaged.
7. Control board malfunction.
8. DC relay board abnormal.
1. Replace duplex unit drive gears (ST).
2. Clean the transport roller in the
duplex unit (ST).
3. Clean the transport roller (ST) or
replace it (NRC).
4. Replace the high voltage PP (NRC).
5. Replace trailing edge sensor (ST).
6. Check harness, replace (NRC).
7. Replace control board (NRC).
8. Replace DC relay board (NRC).
