To emphasize or reduce the high-frequencies of the sample (Emphasis)
In some cases, boosting the high-frequency range of an imported sample will improve the audio quality.
Alternatively, a sample may have an excessively strong high-frequency range when it is played by a sampler
made by another company, and in such cases you can minimize such change by de-emphasizing the
high-frequency range.
1.
Access the SAMPLE MANAGER screen as described in “Viewing a list of samples” (p. 121).
2.
Press [F5](Command).
The SELECT SAMPLE EDIT COMMAND popup (Screen Guide; p. 132) will appear.
3.
Select “Emphasis” and press [F5](Select).
The EMPHASIS popup (Screen Guide; p. 133) will appear.
The “EMPHASIS popup” (p. 133) will appear.
4.
Set the Type parameter.
Select either PreEmphasis (boost the high frequencies) or De-Emphasis (reduce the high frequencies).
5.
Set the Replace parameter.
If this is on ( ✔ ), the edited result will overwrite the original sample.
6.
Press [F5](Execute).
The Emphasis operation will be executed.
● You can select Emphasis from the command in the AUDIO PHRASE EDIT screen (Screen Guide; p. 155) or
the SAMPLE EDIT screen (Screen Guide; p. 128).
When executing a sample editing operation (Emphasis/Normalize/Time Stretch/Truncate/Set Mono/Fade In/Fade
Out), you can choose whether the result will be overwritten onto the original sample, or created as a new sample.
• Replace
If this is on (✔), the edited result will overwrite the original sample.
Saving method of edited sample (Overwrite or Duplicate)
