Here’s how you can “clip” the performance data of the specified region and save it in the library as MIDI clip
data.

Parameters to specify

Name
By default, the clip will have a name consisting of the track name and a two-digit number. You can change this
name as desired. To rename the clip, press [F1](Name) to open the EDIT MIDI CLIP NAME popup (Screen
Guide ;p. 3).
Here’s how you can copy the specified region of the current song as a new pattern.

Name
This shows the name of the pattern selected by the cursor.

No.
This shows the number of the registered pattern. You can register five hundred patterns, 001–500. Use the
VALUE dial to select the pattern number that you want to register.

For details on all of the parameters and values of the Copy As MIDI Clip command, refer to “COPY AS MIDI
CLIP popup” (Screen Guide; p. 44).

The number of clips you can save will depend on the size of the song / pattern and the size of the MIDI clips.
●
If you use the VIEW FILTER popup (Screen Guide; p. 53) to restrict the types of event, only the specified type(s)
of events will be saved as a MIDI clip.

MIDI clips saved in the library can be used in other songs / pattern. For details, refer to “PASTE MIDI CLIP
popup” (Screen Guide; p. 47).

For details on all of the parameters and values of the Copy As New Pattern command, refer to “COPY AS NEW
PATTERN popup” (Screen Guide; p. 105).
●
You can save a region of a pattern as an another pattern.
●
If the length of the selected region exceeds 999 measures, it cannot be saved to a new pattern.
●
If you select a pattern that’s not empty, “Overwrite Sure?” message will appear. If you press [F5](Yes), the newly
saved data will overwrite that pattern.
