Importing data
Loading the pre-installed patches
When shipped from the factory, the MV-8800’s internal hard disk contains a variety of patches (“pre-installed
patches”) that you will find convenient when creating songs, such as drum kits and bass sounds. To use the
pre-installed patches (Appendices; p. 14), load them in the same way as any other patches (Load Patch).
1.
Press [INSTRUMANTS].
The INSTRUMENTS screen (Screen Guide; p. 114) will appear.
2.
Press [MENU].
The MENU popup will appear.
3.
Select “Load Patch” and press [F5](Select).
The LOAD PATCH screen (Screen Guide; p. 150) will appear.
4.
Make sure that the current drive is the MV-8800’s internal hard disk, and use CURSOR [ ]
[ ] [ ] [ ] to select the “PATCHES” folder.
5.
Press CURSOR [ ].
The contents of the PATCHES folder will appear.
6.
Select a folder and press CURSOR [ ].
The patches are organized into folders by their type. Select the folder containing the type of patches you want
to load, and press CURSOR [ ].
The contents of the selected folder (patch data) will appear.

You can audition a patch before actually loading and using it. Refer to “Auditioning or previewing before you
import” (p. 74).
