Recording MIDI tracks (instrument or external MIDI sound module)
Note
These MIDI messages represent the notes. The parameters are Note Number, which expresses the note name, On
Velocity, which expresses the force used in pressing the velocity pads, Duration, which determines the length of the
note, and Off Velocity, which expresses the speed at which the velocity pads are released.
Poly Aftertouch
These MIDI messages apply aftertouch to the velocity pads. The parameters are Note Number, i.e., the note
number specifying the particular velocity pad, and Value, which sets the amount of aftertouch applied.
Control Change
These MIDI messages are used in applying modulation, expression, and a variety of other effects. The function is
selected with the Control Change number, and the amount of the effect applied is set with Value.
Program Change
These MIDI messages are used to switch sounds. The sounds are switched according to the Program Change
number.
Channel Aftertouch
These MIDI messages apply aftertouch on an individual MIDI channel basis. The amount of aftertouch applied is set
with the Value parameter.
Pitch Bend
These MIDI messages change the pitch. The range of the change in pitch is set with Value.
Tune Request
This contains information for tuning analog synthesizers.
Mode Message
This contains information for switching the MIDI channel mode.
System Exclusive (System Exclusive Message)
These MIDI messages are used for setting sounds, timbres, and other settings for a MIDI device being controlled.
