5
Connection options of an encoder system
Installation
– Absolute values of MOVIDRIVE
®
B that are sent to the DCS..B option via backplane
bus of MOVIDRIVE
®
B (backplane bus abs.) can be used as "encoder 2".
– The number of pulses of the encoder values of MOVIDRIVE
®
via the backplane bus
is always 4096 pulses per revolution after starting up the encoders in
MOVIDRIVE
®
B.
5.11 Connection options of an encoder system
An encoder system can be connected as follows:
• Using prefabricated cables
• Using the encoder signal split box DAE70B/71B
The following overview shows the connection options of an encoder system.
INFORMATION
• If encoder values of MOVIDRIVE
®
B are used via the backplane bus, the DCS..B
option triggers the A3303/3304 "Positioning detection plausibility" error message
when the drive is referenced, as the value in MOVIDRIVE
®
B jumps briefly.
This alarm message can be acknowledged by resetting the DCS..B option.
• For reasons of safety, signals that are sent to the DCS..B option via the backplane
bus of MOVIDRIVE
®
B cannot be used as "encoder 1" and "encoder 2" simultane-
ously.
