Connection options of an encoder system
Installation
Absolute values of MOVIDRIVE
®
B that are sent to the DCS..B option via backplane
bus of MOVIDRIVE
®
B (backplane bus abs.) can be used as "encoder 2".
The number of pulses of the encoder values of MOVIDRIVE
®
via the backplane bus
is always 4096 pulses per revolution after starting up the encoders in
MOVIDRIVE
®
B.

An encoder system can be connected as follows:
Using prefabricated cables
Using the encoder signal split box DAE70B/71B
The following overview shows the connection options of an encoder system.
INFORMATION
If encoder values of MOVIDRIVE
®
B are used via the backplane bus, the DCS..B
option triggers the A3303/3304 "Positioning detection plausibility" error message
when the drive is referenced, as the value in MOVIDRIVE
®
B jumps briefly.
This alarm message can be acknowledged by resetting the DCS..B option.
For reasons of safety, signals that are sent to the DCS..B option via the backplane
bus of MOVIDRIVE
®
B cannot be used as "encoder 1" and "encoder 2" simultane-
ously.
