Introduction
Purpose of This Service Manual
This service manual is intended for use by service engineers approved by Shimadzu
Corporation, and describes the maintenance methods used for the GC-2014 series gas
chromatographs. Maintenance may only be performed by service engineers who have
received training for these instruments.
There may be cases where information on subjects also covered in the instruction manual
has been omitted. Refer to the instruction manual if necessary. New information required
for maintenance will be issued as Technical Information. Insert this information inside this
document so that it can be referred to easily.
Notice
Due to product improvement, the parts described and the diagrams given in this document
may differ from the actual equipment. Also, not all the parts referred to in this document
are handled as maintenance parts.
Maintenance Parts Availability
Maintenance parts for this product will be available for a period of seven (7) years after the
product is discontinued. Thereafter, such parts may cease to be available.
If Shimadzu receives notice of the discontinuation of units or parts, the necessary quantity
for the above period is immediately calculated and secured. However, such units or parts
may cease to be available within seven years after the discontinuation of the product,
depending on individual manufacturer conditions and on changes in the quantity required.
Listing of Part Numbers
If a part number listed in this Service Manual begins with the letter "S" (e.g.
S221-12345-41), the corresponding part can be acquired from the Parts Center. If a part
number does not begin with "S", the corresponding part cannot be acquired from the Parts
Center. Such parts must be specially ordered.
