8 - PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR USE
In order to prepare the machine for a new format, MANUAL mode must be inserted after
having performed the foreseen calibration and initialisation operation. For further details
regarding machine operation, see chapter 9 "OPERATION AND USE".
ATTENTION! Pay specially careful when working in MANUAL operating mode since some
operations (the reel unwinding and winding of film waste on collection device) are activated
even with the doors open. Therefore remain at an appropriate safety distance from moving
mechanical parts to avoid danger.
The operations described in this chapter must be carried
out by second level plant conductor. (see paragraph 4.8).
The personal protective equipment required are safety
shoes, anti-entanglement work clothes and gloves (for
additional details see the paragraph 7.10).
The following is a detailed illustration of all the adjustments necessary to operate the machine
properly. In the paragraph 8.10 are summarizes the operations to be carried out at each
change of the format to be packaged.
8.1 Height adjustment of film conformation squares

Adjust the height of the top square (A) with the respective flywheel (1). The top square should
be about 5-10 cm higher than the product to be wrapped.
