CARBURETOR SOLENOID
REMOVAL AND INSPECTION
• Remove the carburetor solenoid 1. Make sure the coupler 2
is connected.
• Connect the tachometer sensor.
• Shift the transmission into neutral.
• Start the engine.
• Inspect if the solenoid valve switches according to the follow-
ing engine RPM.
OFF position: 9 000 – 11 000 r/min
ON position: Throttle grip opening 5 – 30%
If the solenoid valve operation is not correct, inspect the sole-
noid valve by following procedure.
• Remove the carburetor sorenoid.
• Connect 12 V battery as shown.
• Inspect if the valve moves each time the circuit is opened and
closed.
If the movement is not correct, replace the solenoid valve with a
new one.
If the movement is correct, inspect or replace following parts.
CDI unit
Stator coil (13-7)
Wiring harness for open circuit
Coupler connection
REASSEMBLY
Pay attention to the following point:
• Apply engine oil to the cross thread of the solenoid and the
new O-ring.

CAUTION
Replace the O-ring with a new one.
