How to troubleshoot a Suzuki RM125 engine that won't start?
- TThomas KingJul 27, 2025
If your Suzuki Motorcycle engine doesn't start or is hard to start, there are several potential causes. It could be due to fuel deterioration (replace the fuel), no fuel flow to the carburetor (clean the carburetor), a clogged fuel valve (clean or replace the valve), a clogged fuel hose (clean the hose), or a clogged fuel tank cap breather hose (replace the hose). Other potential issues include a carburetor float valve malfunction (replace the valve), too rich air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber (scavenge), incorrect ignition timing (adjust the timing), no spark at the spark plug (replace the spark plug), low compression (replace), worn or stuck piston ring (replace), worn cylinder (replace), air leak from cylinder gasket (replace), or air leak from crankshaft oil seal (replace).
