• Measure the piston ring free end gap.

PISTON-TO-CYLINDER CLEARANCE
As a result of the previous measurement, if the piston to cylinder
clearance exceeds the following limit, replace both cylinder and
piston.

Service Limit: 0.120 mm (0.0047 in)
EXHAUST VALVE INSPECTION
• Remove carbon deposits from the exhaust main valve 1,
side valves 2 and spacers 3.
• Inspect the exhaust main valve, side valve and spacer for
wear and scratches.
• Inspect the cam groove of the side valve for wear.
• Inspect the return spring 4 for spring tension.
CONROD INSPECTION
• Measure the conrod small end bore.
