Automatic measurement descriptions
The following tables list the automatic measurements, grouped as shown on the
measurements menu. Measurement descriptions can also be shown on the
oscilloscope by enabling Help Everywhere (Help > Help Everywhere). See
Getting on-screen help for settings - Help Everywhere on page 29.
Frequency measurement descriptions
Table 4: Frequency measurements
Measurement Description
Frequency The first cycle in a waveform or
gated region. Frequency is the
reciprocal of the period; it is
measured in hertz (Hz) where
one Hz is one cycle per second.
+Pulses The number of positive pulses
that rise above the mid
reference crossing in the
waveform or gated region.
–Pulses The number of negative pulses
that fall below the mid reference
crossing in the waveform or
gated region.
+Edges The number of positive
transitions from the low
reference value to the high
reference value in the waveform
or gated region.
–Edges The number of negative
transitions from the high
reference value to the low
reference value in the waveform
or gated region.
