Description A ThermoFixture is an innovative thermal enclosure complete with fixturing to interface to
both ATE or Rack & Stack test equipment and interface to the ThermoStream System for a
turnkey thermal test solution. In addition to standard applications for PCBs, modules and
devices, custom ThermoFixtures have been used in the thermal testing of:
a) high speed, high power devices and MCMs, up to 600 Mega Hertz; and
b) for devices from DC power up to RF/Microwave (KA Band (60GigaHertz)) power.
The ThermoFixture holds the module or device in a custom socket at temperature in an
airtight, frost free environment. Temptronic’s patented dual-loop DUT control provides
optimized temperature transition by precisely controlling the DUT temperature within the
case, assuring that only the device/MCM under test is subjected to temperature: all tester
electronics are isolated and protected from temperature extremes. One ThermoFixture design
option to measurably increase device throughput is “quick socket replacement,” the intelligent
design of the ThermoFixture interface angle such that it aligns to the test head for maximum
ease of access by end-users as they place modules (devices) into and extract them from the
ThermoFixture.
