1. Clean the chain cover (2) and chain case (1) mating
surfaces.
2. Apply Loctite
®
Primer to the cover and chain case
mating surfaces.
3. Apply a 1/4 inch (6 mm) bead of Loctite
®
518 Gasket
Eliminator to the chain case mating surface.

NOTE
Apply Loctite

(Blue) Thread Sealant to the threads
of the socket-head screws (3 and 5) before installation.
4. Install the cover (7) on the chain case using five
1/4-20 x 1-1/2” socket-head screws (5) and washers
(6).
5. Install three 1/4-20 x 2-1/4” socket-head screws (3)
and washers (4).

NOTE
Always replace O-rings before assembly.
6. Apply lithium grease NLGI Grade 2 to the reel clutch
lever shaft (8) and O-ring (9) before installation.

7. Install reel clutch lever (12) in cover (16), using screw
(10), lock washer (11), and retainer (17).
