(V1)andsteeringcylinder.FlowleavesthesteeringcontrolvalvethroughtheE
port,passesthroughthelift/sidewindervalve,hydraulicmanifold,hydrostatand
chargereliefvalve,andcontinuesontothegearpumpinletandhydraulictank.
RightTurn
Whenarightturnismadewiththeenginerunning,theturningofthesteering
wheelpositionsthesteeringcontrolspoolvalvesothatowgoesthroughthe
bottomofthespool.FlowenteringthesteeringcontrolvalveatthePportgoes
throughthespoolandisroutedtotwoplaces.First,mostoftheowthroughthe
steeringcontrolvalveisby−passedouttheEportbackthroughthelift/sidewinder
valve,hydraulicmanifold,hydrostatandchargereliefvalve,andcontinueson
tothegearpumpinletandhydraulictank.Second,theremainderoftheowis
drawnthroughtherotarymeter(V1)andoutport(R).Pressureretractsthe
pistonforarightturn.Therotarymeter(V1)ensuresthattheuidowtothe
cylinderisproportionaltotheamountofsteeringwheelrotation.Fluidleavingthe
cylinderowsbackthroughthesteeringcontrolspoolvalveandthroughtheT
port.Returnowpassesthroughthehydraulicmanifold,hydrostatandcharge
reliefvalve,andcontinuesontothegearpumpinletandhydraulictank.
Thesteeringcontrolvalvereturnstotheneutralpositionwhenturningis
complete.
LeftTurn
Whenaleftturnismadewiththeenginerunning,theturningofthesteering
wheelpositionsthesteeringcontrolspoolvalvesothatowgoesthroughthetop
ofthespool.FlowenteringthesteeringcontrolvalveatthePportgoesthrough
thespoolandisroutedtotwoplaces.Mostoftheowthroughthesteering
controlvalveisby−passedouttheEportbackthroughthelift/sidewindervalve,
hydraulicmanifold,hydrostatandchargereliefvalve,andcontinuesontothe
gearpumpinletandhydraulictank(asinarightturn).Theremainderoftheow
isdrawnthroughrotarymeter(V1)butduringaleftturntheowgoesoutport(L).
Pressureextendsthepistonforaleftturn.Therotarymeter(V1)ensuresthatthe
uidowtothecylinderisproportionaltotheamountofsteeringwheelrotation.
FluidleavingthecylinderowsbackthroughthespoolvalvethenthroughtheT
port.Returnowpassesthroughthehydraulicmanifold,hydrostatandcharge
reliefvalve,andcontinuesontothegearpumpinletandhydraulictank.
Thesteeringcontrolvalvereturnstotheneutralpositionwhenturningis
complete.
