ThePTOswitchislocatedonthecontrolpanel(Figure123).Thisswitchispulled
outtoengagethecuttingunitsandpushedintodisengagethecuttingunits.
TheStandardControlModule(SCM)monitorsthepositionofthePTOswitch
(upordown).UsingtheinputsfromthePTOswitchandotherswitchesinthe
interlocksystem,theSCMcontrolstheenergizingofthereeldrivesolenoidand
thus,thePTO.IfthekeyswitchisintheONpositionandthePTOswitchis
engaged,theSCMPTOswitchinputLEDshouldbeilluminated.
IMPORTANT
Duringtheoperationofthemachine,ifthePTOshutsdownand
theconsoletemperaturewarninglightisilluminatedbecauseof
excessiveenginecoolanttemperature,avoidshuttingofftheengine.
Underthiscondition,pushthePTOknobdown,slowlydrivetoa
safeatarea,movethethrottlelevertotheSLOWposition,press
thetractionpedal,andsettheparkingbrake.Allowtheenginetobe
idleforseveralminuteswhileitcoolstoasafelevel,andcheckthe
coolingsystembeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
Testing
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.BeforeyoudisconnectthePTOswitchfortesting,ensurethatyoutestthe
switchanditscircuitwiringasaSCMinput;refertoStandardControlModule
(SCM)(page6–45).
3.IftheSCMveriesthatthePTOswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioning
correctly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
