System(page6–1)).Donotrelyentirelyonsafetyswitches:shutoffengine
beforegettingoffseat.Ifaswitchfails,replaceitbeforeoperatingthe
machine.Theinterlocksystemisforyourprotection,sodonotbypassit.
4.Operatormustbeskilledandtrainedinhowtodriveonhillsides.Failure
tousecautiononslopesorhillsmaycausevehicletotiporroll,possibly
resultinginpersonalinjuryordeath.
5.Thistriplexmowerhasauniquedrivesystemforsuperiortractiononhills.
Theuphillwheelwillnotspinoutandlimittractionlikeconventionaltriplexes.
Ifoperatedonasidehillthatistoosteep,rollovermayoccurbeforelosing
traction.

todeterminewhichareascanbeoperatedonsafely.Whenperformingthis
sitesurvey,alwaysusecommonsenseandtakeintoconsiderationtheturf
conditionandtherolloverrisk.Toperformasitesurvey,followtheprocedure
outlinedintheOperator’sManual.
Stayalertforholesinterrainandotherhiddenhazardswhichcancausea
suddenchangeinsidehillangle.Useextremecautionwhenoperatingclose
tosandtraps,ditches,creeks,steephillsides,orotherhazards.Reduce
speedwhenmakingsharpturns.Donotturnonhills.Avoidsuddenstops
andstarts.Usereversepedalforbraking.Cuttingunitsshouldbelowered
whengoingdownslopes.
9.Whenstartingtheengine:
A.Engageparkingbrake.
B.Besuretractionpedalisinneutralandbladedriveisindisengage
position.
C.Afterenginestarts,releaseparkingbrakeandkeepfootofftractionpedal.
Machinemustnotmove.Ifmovementisevident,theneutralcontrol
linkageisincorrectlyadjusted:therefore,shutengineoffandadjustuntil
machinedoesnotmovewhentractionpedalisreleased(seeAdjusting
theTractionDriveforNeutralinOperator’sManual).
10.Beforebackingup,looktotherearandassurenooneisbehindthemachine.
Watchoutfortrafcwhennearorcrossingroads.Alwaysyieldtheright
ofway.
11.Keephands,feetandclothingawayfrommovingpartsandthereeldischarge
area.Grassbaskets,ifsoequipped,mustbeinplaceduringreeloperation
formaximumsafety.
12.Thisproductmayexceednoiselevelsof85dB(A)attheoperatorposition.
Earprotectorsarerecommendedforprolongedexposuretoreducethe
potentialofpermanenthearingdamage.
13.Raisethecuttingunitswhendrivingfromoneworkareatoanother.
