•Donotadjustreelswhiletheengineisrunning.
•Ifareelstalls,stopenginebeforeattemptingtoclearthereel.
•Reelmotorsareconnectedinseries:rotatingonemotorcauses
rotationinothermotors.
1.Parkthemachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits
completelytotheground,shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,and
removethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Onallcuttingunits,makeinitialreeltobedknifeadjustmentsappropriate
forbacklapping.
IMPORTANT
Donotattempttorotatethedirectionalvalveleveronthehydraulic
manifoldwhentheengineorreelsarerunning.

3.Removetheconsolecoverandlocatethereelspeedselectorknoband
backlapleveronthehydraulicmanifold(Figure167).Rotatethereelspeed
selectorknobtoposition“1”andthebacklaplevertotheR(backlap)position.
4.Starttheengineandrunatlowidlespeed.
5.Withthemowspeedlimiterinthemowposition,movethePTOswitchto
theONposition.Presstheliftswitchtostartthebacklappingoperationon
thedesignatedreels.
6.Applylappingcompoundtocuttingreelswithalonghandlebrush(refer
toSpecialTools(page2–13)).Neveruseashorthandledbrushtoapply
lappingcompound.
