Removethegroomerreeltoreplaceindividualgroomerbladesorreplacethe
shaft.Thegroomerreelcanbereversedtoprovideadditionalbladelife.
RemovingtheGroomerReel
1.Parkmachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowercuttingunitscompletelyto
theground,stopengine,engageparkingbrakeandremovekeyfromthekey
switch.Ifdesired,removecuttingunitfrommachine(refertoTractionUnit
Operator’sManual).
CAUTION
Contactwiththereelorothercuttingunitpartscanresultinpersonal
injury.Useheavygloveswhenhandlingthegroomerreel.
2.Carefullyremovethefour(item4inFigure214)jamnuts,capscrewsand
shaftclampssecuringthegroomerreeltotheoutputandstubshafts.
3.Liftthegroomerreelfromthecuttingunit.
4.Inspectseal,shields,bushingandbearingsforwearordamage.Replace
componentsasneeded(refertoGearBoxAssembly(page9–5)andIdler
Assembly(page9–13)).
