TheOperator'sManualprovidesinformationregardingtheoperation,general
maintenanceprocedures,andmaintenanceintervalsforyourmachine.Referto
theOperator'sManualforadditionalinformationwhenservicingthemachine.
RelievingHydraulicSystemPressure
BeforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkontheReelmasterhydraulic
system,allpressureinthehydraulicsystemmustberelieved.Parkmachineon
alevelsurfacewiththecuttingunitsloweredandoff.TurnkeyswitchtoOFFand
allowenginetostop.
Torelievehydraulicpressureintractioncircuit,movetractionlevertoboth
forwardandreversedirections.Torelievehydraulicpressureinsteeringandlift
circuits,rotatesteeringwheelinbothdirections.
Torelievecuttingsystempressure,turnkeyswitchtoON(enginenotrunning).
MovePTOswitchtoengagewhichwillenergizethesolenoidvalveonhydraulic
manifoldtorelievecircuitpressure.MovePTOswitchtodisengage,returnkey
switchtoOFFandremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
Torelieveliftcircuitsystempressure,turnkeyswitchtoON(enginenotrunning),
fullylowerthecuttingunitstotheground.TurnkeyswitchtoOFF .
Note:Movingsteeringwheelwithengineoffmayunseatimplementreliefvalve.
Ifsteeringorliftcircuitsappearweakorinoperativeaftermachineisreturnedto
service,repeatrelievinghydraulicsystempressureprocedure.
TractionCircuit(ClosedLoop)ComponentFailure
TheReelmastertractioncircuitisaclosedloopsystemthatincludesthe
hydrostatandtwo(2)wheelmotors.Ifacomponentinthetractioncircuitshould
fail,debrisandcontaminationfromthefailedcomponentwillcirculatethroughout
thetractioncircuit.Thiscontaminationcandamageothercomponentsinthe
circuitsoitmustberemovedtopreventadditionalcomponentfailure.
Ifacomponentfailureoccursinthetractioncircuit,itiscriticalthattheentire
tractioncircuitbedisassembled,drainedandthoroughlycleanedtoensure
thatallcontaminationisremovedfromthecircuit.Ifanydebrisremainsinthe
tractioncircuitandthemachineisoperated,thedebriscancauseadditional
componentfailure.
Anadditionalstepforremovingalltractioncircuitcontaminationwouldbeto
temporarilyinstallahighpressurehydraulicoillter(refertoSpecialT ools(page
2–13))intothecircuit.Theltercouldbeusedwhenconnectinghydraulictest
gaugesinordertotesttractioncircuitcomponentsorafterreplacingafailed
tractioncircuitcomponent(e.g.hydrostatorwheelmotor).Thelterwillensure
thatcontaminatesareremovedfromtheclosedloopandthus,donotcause
additionalcomponentdamage.
OncetheTorohighowhydrauliclterkithasbeenplacedinthecircuit,raise
andsupportthemachinewithallwheelsofftheground.Then,operatethe
tractioncircuittoallowuidowthroughoutthecircuit.Thelterwillremove
contaminationfromthetractioncircuitduringoperation.BecausetheToro
highowlterisbi-directional,thetractioncircuitcanbeoperatedinboththe
forwardandreversedirection.Theltershouldberemovedfromthemachine
aftercontaminationhasbeenremovedfromthetractioncircuit.SeeFiltering
