ThechargeindicatorlightshouldcomeonwhenthekeyswitchisintheON
positionwiththeenginenotrunning.Also,itshouldilluminatewithanimproperly
operatingchargingcircuitwhiletheengineisrunning.
EngineOilPressureLight
TheengineoilpressurelightshouldcomeonwhenthekeyswitchisintheON
positionwiththeenginenotrunning.Also,itshouldilluminatewiththeengine
runningiftheengineoilpressuredropstoanunsafelevel.
IMPORTANT
Iftheoilpressureindicatorlightisilluminatedwiththeengine
running,shutofftheengineimmediately.
Totesttheoilpressurelightandcircuitwiring,groundthewireattachedtooil
pressureswitchlocatedontheengineneartheoillter.Turnkeyswitchtothe
ONposition;theengineoilpressurelightshouldcomeonindicatingcorrect
operationoftheindicatorlightandcircuitwiring.
HighTemperatureWarningLight
Iftheenginecoolanttemperaturereaches105ºC(221ºF)(approximate),thehigh
temperaturewarninglightshouldcomeon.
Totestthehightemperaturewarninglightandcircuitwiring,turnkeyswitchto
theONpositionandgroundthewireattachedtohightemperaturesenderlocated
ontheenginewaterpumphousing(seeHighT emperatureWarningSwitch(page
6–29)).Thehightemperaturewarninglightshouldilluminate.
GlowPlugIndicatorLight
TheglowpluglightshouldcomeonwhenthekeyswitchisplacedintheON
positionpriortoplacingthekeyswitchinSTART .Thelightshouldstaylitfor
approximately6secondswhilethekeyswitchisleftintheONposition.
