1.Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentstothemachine,stoptheengineand
removekeyfromswitchtopreventaccidentalstartingoftheengine.
2.Checkperformanceofallinterlockswitchesdaily.Donotdefeatinterlock
system.Itisforyourprotection.
3.Toensureentiremachineisingoodoperatingcondition,frequentlycheck
andkeepallnuts,bolts,screwsandhydraulicttingstight.
4.Makesureallhydrauliclineconnectorsaretight,andallhydraulichosesand
linesareingoodconditionbeforeapplyingpressuretothesystem.
5.Keepbodyandhandsawayfrompinholeleaksornozzlesthateject
hydraulicuidunderhighpressure.Usepaperorcardboard,nothands,to
searchforleaks.Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecanhavesufcient
forcetopenetrateskinanddoseriousdamage.lfuidisinjectedintotheskin
itmustbesurgicallyremovedwithinafewhoursbyadoctorfamiliarwiththis
formofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
6.Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkonthehydraulicsystem,all
pressureinsystemmustberelievedbystoppingengineandloweringcutting
unitstotheground.
7.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneeded,orifassistanceisdesired,contactan
AuthorizedT oroDistributor.
8.Toreducepotentialrehazard,keeptheengineareafreeofexcessive
grease,grass,leavesandaccumulationofdirt.
9.Iftheenginemustberunningtoperformamaintenanceadjustment,keep
hands,feet,clothing,andanyotherpartsofthebodyawayfromthecutting
unitsandanymovingparts.Keepeveryoneaway.
10.Donotoverspeedtheenginebychanginggovernorsettings.Toassure
safetyandaccuracy,haveanAuthorizedT oroDistributorcheckmaximum
enginespeedwithatachometer.
11.Enginemustbeshutoffbeforecheckingoiloraddingoiltothecrankcase.
12.Toinsureoptimumperformanceandsafety,usegenuineTOROreplacement
partsandaccessories.Replacementpartsandaccessoriesmadebyother
manufacturerscouldbedangerous,andsuchusecouldvoidtheproduct
warrantyofTheT oroCompany.
13.Disconnectbatterybeforeservicingthemachine.Disconnectnegative
batterycablerstandpositivecablelast.Ifbatteryvoltageisrequired
fortroubleshootingortestprocedures,temporarilyconnectthebattery.
Reconnectpositivebatterycablerstandnegativecablelast.
14.Batteryacidispoisonousandcancauseburns.Avoidcontactwithskin,
eyesandclothing.Protectyourface,eyesandclothingwhenworkingwitha
battery.
15.Batterygasescanexplode.Keepcigarettes,sparksandamesawayfrom
thebattery.
16.Whenchangingattachments,tiresorperformingotherservice,usecorrect
jacks,hoistsandjackstands.Makesuremachineisparkedonasolid
levelsurfacesuchasaconcreteoor.Priortoraisingthemachine,remove
anyattachmentsthatmayinterferewiththesafeandproperraisingofthe
machine.Alwayschockorblockwheels.Useappropriatejackstandsto
supporttheraisedmachine.Ifthemachineisnotproperlysupportedbyjack
stands,themachinemaymoveorfall,whichmayresultinpersonalinjury
(seeJackingInstructions(page1–7)).
17.Makesuretodisposeofpotentiallyharmfulwaste(e.g.fuel,oil,engine
coolant,lters,battery)inanenvironmentallysafemanner.Followalllocal
codesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposingofwaste.
