restrictingowacrossthemotorports.Casedrainvolumeunderloadofmore
than9%oftotalmotorowindicatesthegearsandwearplatesinthemotor
haveworn.Awornmotormayby−passhydraulicuidtoitscasedraincausing
themotortobelessefcient.Eventually,enoughuidlosswillcausethereel
motortostallunderheavycuttingconditions.Continuedoperationwithaworn,
inefcientmotorcangenerateexcessiveheat,causedamagetosealsandother
componentsinthehydraulicsystem,andaffectqualityofcut.
Note:Onemethodtondafailingormalfunctioningcuttingunitmotoristohave
anotherpersonobservethemachinewhilemowingindenseturf.Abadmotor
willrunslower,producefewerclippingsandmaycauseadifferentappearance
ontheturf.
